About the Opportunity

Ord Valley Aboriginal Health Service (OVAHS) is looking for a Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) Officer to join their team in Kununurra, WA on a full-time basis.

Reporting to the Deputy CEOyou will be responsible for providing and implementing an ongoing quality improvement framework, providing training and support to OVAHS staff on the quality management system and supporting OVAHS clinics to meet accreditation and licensing requirements.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Working with management to maintain the current framework, deliver outcomes and develop new organisational improvement activities;
  • Providing leadership in the area of quality improvement, ensuring the CQI in Action Plan is consistent with appropriate national and international legislation;
  • Supporting the ongoing development of clinical CQI assessment tools, preparing draft standards, policies and procedures to meet any identified gaps;
  • Producing regular reports related to quality improvement activities for bi-annual reviews and evaluation by the Senior Management Team;
  • Providing training and support to OVAHS staff on the LogicQC Quality Management System; and
  • Coordinating the accreditation process, including audits, policies and procedures, action plans and employee education.

About You

The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience or a qualification in quality improvement, ideally related to the health or community services sector, and hold a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

Able to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will have strong organisation skills and be comfortable facilitating meetings with a range of stakeholders, conducting internal training and education sessions as well as coordinating external audits and accreditation activities.

Experience with LogicQC or a similar Quality Management System would be highly regarded, but not essential provided you have strong computer literacy and are able to learn, use and monitor a range of software.

Finally, you will have a genuine passion for quality healthcare, and be able to inspire the same enthusiasm in those you are working with, leading new initiatives or activities and working collaboratively to achieve the best possible outcomes for the patients OVAHS supports.

Please note: The successful candidate will require a current 'C' class drivers licence, and either hold or be willing to obtain National Police Clearance and Working with Children clearance prior to commencement.
