About the Organisation

Ord Valley Aboriginal Health Service (OVAHS) provides comprehensive Primary Health Care services to Aboriginal people in the East Kimberley region of Western Australia. With a holistic approach that includes a high standard of service delivery and the promotion of social justice, they empower individuals, families, and communities to make positive changes for their health and wellbeing.

Most importantly, the OVAHS approach involves members of the community taking part in controlling their own wellbeing. Management and governance, staff selection, and service delivery priorities are directed by the organisation’s Aboriginal Board and Community Health Committees.

About the Opportunity

OVAHS now has a fantastic opportunity available for a full-time General Practitioner to work within their team of dedicated health professionals in Kununurra, WA on a permanent basis.

To be considered for this position you must be a Vocationally Registered GP (FRACGP, FACRRM, or equivalent) and be eligible for registration as a medical practitioner in WA. Demonstrated experience in general practice is also essential.

Importantly, you will be committed to providing culturally sensitive healthcare and demonstrate an interest in working closely with Aboriginal communities, to understand their health issues and work with them to find solutions.

Please Note: A current Australian ‘C’ Class driver’s license or equivalent, and Federal Police clearance are both essential role requirements.
